Answer : The original Blodgett House was built on the property where the current historical musuem now sits. This house was built around 1846, and was moved to 812 Randall in 1890, when the Blodgetts decided to build a larger more grand house, which now occupies the site on Maple Avenue, and is current home for the Downers Grove Historical Society and Museum. The new victorian style house was completed around 1892. The original Blodgett house is now the third oldest house in the village,after the Orange Lyman House on Maple Avenue and Pierce Downer’s house at 4434 Seeley.
